Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
became famous as the lead actor in "Saturday Night Life". He then
starred in numerous big-screen comedies like Elf and' Anchorman and 'Talladega
Nights. Will Ferrell was born in Irvine, California in 1967. He began his
comedy career as an actor in the Los Angeles-based improv group, the
Groundlings. Following his famed seven-year stint as a part of Saturday Night
Live, he became one of the movie industry's most popular comedians through
off-color successes such as Old School (2003) and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron
Burgundy (2004). Ferrell is also co-creator of the popular video streaming
website Funny or Die, and enjoyed success as a voiceover actor via animated
features such as Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was conceived in Irvine,
California on July 16 1967. Will Ferrell was the oldest son of Righteous
Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell and instructor Kay Ferrell. He was according
to his own admission in no way the class clown when he was an University High
School student. He was quiet and stoic however, he decided to play football and
set a school record for the most field goals made. Even in the more comfortable
confines of his suburban home, Ferrell displayed little of his outrageous,
hilarious bursts that would eventually establish his career. "Very
even-tempered and casual," his mother recalled in an interview with
Esquire. "You have seen those cute Matchbox cars? Will put together his
Matchbox cars completely by himself and be completely satisfied. It would be
like, "You want to go to Disneyland today, or arrange your cars?' That
would be a challenging discussion for him to think about. Ferrell was not a
perfectly straight man, but that's not to say he was not. When he made the
daily announcements via the PA system, a glimpse into his comical talents was
shown every morning in high school. Upon graduation in 1986, Ferrell attended
the University of Southern California at Los Angeles, where he was a member of
Delta Tau, the Delta Tau fraternity and pursued an education in sports
journalism.
