Steve Aoki
Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida
on the 30th November 1977. American electro house music producer, D.J., and
record producer Steve Aoki is his moniker. Music executive. He is the son of
Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father was a wrestler who founded the
chain of restaurants Benihana. He has 2 older siblings, a sister Kana (who is
often referred to by her middle name Grace) and brother Kevin (owner of Doraku
Sushi restaurant). The half-sister of his is Devon Aoki, a model and actress.
He was born in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High
School, in which he was a part of the badminton varsity team. After graduating
from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts, the student attended UC Santa
Barbara. He also earned two bachelor's degrees, one in feminist studies and the
one in Sociology. He recorded DIY music and also hosted underground music
events in his Biko room at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative while
in college. The venue was used for concerts, and the place was named The Pickle
Patch. He was also active in student activities at UCSB. He created a
Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. He had already started
his own record label in the 20s. It was called Dim Mak named after his idol
from childhood Bruce Lee. In March of 2010 He dropped I'm in the House, a
collaboration with the Zuper Blahq-alter-ego of The Black Eyed Peas singer
will.i.am. The track peaked at the top of the charts at No. 29 in the U.K.
Singles Chart in its 1st week of release. It was ranked among the top 5 on both
the U.K. Indie Chart & U.K. Dance Chart. The song was featured in the
MTV series Jersey Shore. It also made an appearance in Piranha the feature film
Piranha as well as the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May interview with
HitQuarters, Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter, confirmed that he and Rivers
Cuomo had just worked on an album. He was named the highest-grossing dancer
from North America by Pollstar in 2012. His collaborations include artists such
Afrojack, LMFAO and Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke.
BTS, Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. He's
known for remixes with artists such as Kid Cudi
